La Escuela The K-6 School
Bambini Dual Language School will be a Two-way Dual Immersion free public K-6 charter school tentatively
projected to open in the 2009-2010 school year. The school will start with a Kindergarten class and each
year add a grade as the children progress and move up to the next level developing proficiency in both
languages, up to the 6th grade (K-6 is free). The school will teach using English, and a target language of
the parents choosing, Mandarin, Korean, or Spanish. Students will be taught the same Arizona State
Standards as a regular public school the only difference is that students will learn in two languages the
same material that other students in regular public schools learn in one language.
Bambini Dual Language School believes that we have the most advanced cutting edge philosophy and
vision for the future of education in the United States. We believe that families will be surprised and
delighted when they observe their children becoming fully bilingual academically in both languages and
able to discuss higher order concepts in both languages. We envision our school as being a model for
other schools in the evolution of future educational institutions in the 21st century, nurturing students
to be “global citizens” and able to fully compete in the new global economy.
The Technology
Bambini Dual Language School will use technology to supplement the curriculum. Smart boards and
projection units will be in every classroom. When children reach the third grade they will each have a
laptop to help them prepare for presentations, learn word processing using the keyboard, and the
Internet for research. The school also wants to teach Basic computer programming to third graders.
The Vision
As the world diversifies and becomes more competitive, the vision of the Bambini Dual Language school is
to provide the next generation with the appropriate tools to be economically and culturally competitive.
As languages becomes more economically valuable in the new global world and economies, the school
hopes to equip children with the newest cutting edge technology and languages to succeed.
Bambini Dual Language School also believes that all cultures and languages are valuable and promotes
pluralism. Each child's cultural and linguistic identity is fragile and needs to be carefully nurtured. Bambini
Dual Language school will prepare children to thrive in the newly emerging and changing global
community through linguistic and technology education.
